University of Humanistic Studies
Overview
Situated in the enchanting medieval city center of Utrecht, the University of Humanistic Studies is a compact, faith-inspired institution rooted in humanist traditions. With a focus on contemporary topics like life’s meanings and worldviews, our research and education aim to foster a more compassionate society.
Currently, we welcome approximately 550 students into our diverse array of Bachelor’s, Master’s, and pre-Master’s programs in Humanistic Studies, as well as the Master’s program in Care Ethics and Policy. While most courses are conducted in Dutch, some are available in English for exchange students. Additionally, we provide doctoral programs through our graduate school.
Humanistic Studies is a dynamic multidisciplinary field, interweaving philosophy, ethics, psychology, education, sociology, history, religious studies, and philosophy of science and scientific methodology to explore complex issues with a holistic approach.
