Overview
The National College of Art and Design (NCAD), Ireland’s oldest art institution, offers an extensive range of art and design degrees at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, making it the largest in the country. With its origins dating back to 1746 as a drawing school, NCAD has a rich history of nurturing prominent Irish artists, designers, and art educators.
Situated in the heart of Dublin, NCAD moved to the historic Liberties area in 1980, maintaining its central location. Boasting around 950 full-time students and an additional 600 pursuing part-time courses, NCAD welcomes students from over forty countries. As a Recognised College of University College Dublin and a member of the European League of Institutes of the Arts, NCAD offers a platform for excellence in art and design.
