Loughborough University has been named Sports University of the Year by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025, marking the fourth time the university has received this prestigious honour. This recognition follows an exceptional summer in which Loughborough athletes secured 35 medals at the Paris Games, underscoring the university’s strong tradition of sporting excellence.
Beyond athletic achievement, Loughborough’s reputation is bolstered by world-class research from its School of Sport, Exercise, and Health Sciences, Sports Technology Institute, and Institute for Sport Business. The university has also topped global rankings for sports-related subjects for eight consecutive years, highlighting its leadership in the academic and sporting worlds. Vice-Chancellor Professor Nick Jennings praised the dedication of athletes, coaches, and staff for helping Loughborough remain a leader in sports and academic excellence.
